Christmas week has a different feel to it.
The pace of life slows just a little. Schedules get rearranged. Some of us are traveling to see family, some are welcoming people into our homes, and some are walking through a season that feels more heavy than joyful.
No matter what this week looks like for you, we want you to hear this first:
You belong here, and you matter to us.
At CrossFit Dwell, we talk a lot about strength, consistency, and building healthy habits. But Christmas reminds us that fitness is never just about workouts or numbers on a whiteboard. It’s about people. It’s about showing up for one another. It’s about stewarding the bodies we’ve been given so we can love and serve well.
Our name, Dwell, is rooted in Psalm 91:
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
That verse has always shaped our vision for this gym. CrossFit Dwell is meant to be more than a place you come to work out. It’s meant to be a place of refuge, encouragement, and growth. It is a space where you can show up as you are, find support, and be reminded that you are not alone.
A Season of Grace, Not Guilt
Let’s get something out of the way early: the next couple of weeks do not need to be perfect.
You might miss a workout. You might eat foods you don’t normally eat. You might sleep less than usual. You might feel completely off your routine.
That does not mean you’ve failed.
Christmas is not a test of discipline. It’s a reminder of grace.
At CrossFit Dwell, we believe in consistency over time, not perfection in a single week. One missed workout does not undo months of effort. One indulgent meal does not erase strength you’ve built. Your fitness is not fragile.
If you can move your body this week, wonderful. If movement looks like a class, a walk, mobility work, or simply resting when your body needs it, that counts too.
Give yourself permission to slow down.
Gratitude for Our Community
As we reflect on this year, our hearts are full of gratitude for each of you.
We are grateful for the early mornings or the afternoons when you showed up tired but committed. We are grateful for the days you scaled a workout and trusted the process. We are grateful for the encouragement you offered someone else when they needed it most. We are grateful for the quiet wins, the shared struggles, and the laughter between sets.
This gym is not what it is because of equipment or programming.
It is what it is because of people.
YOU create an environment where effort matters, where beginners feel welcome, and where progress looks different for everyone. That kind of community doesn’t happen by accident, and we never take it for granted.
Strength That Goes Beyond the Barbell
We invite you to think about strength in a broader way.
Strength is choosing to care for your body even when life feels full. Strength is knowing when to push and when to rest. Strength is showing up with humility, patience, and kindness toward yourself and others.
The habits you build here don’t stay inside the gym. They carry into your families, your work, your friendships, and your faith. When you train your body, you’re also training your mind and heart to persevere, adapt, and trust the process.
That matters far more than any number lifted or time on the clock.
A Gentle Reminder for Christmas Week
As you move through this week, we hope you keep these simple reminders close:
• You don’t have to earn rest.
• Movement is a gift, not a punishment.
• Comparison steals joy.
• Small efforts still count.
• Showing up looks different in every season.
Psalm 91 speaks of shelter, rest, and protection, a place to dwell and be safe. That’s our hope for you this week: that you find moments of rest, peace, and grounding, even in the middle of busy days or complicated emotions.
If your Christmas feels joyful, we celebrate with you. If it feels hard, know that you are seen and supported here.
Looking Ahead With Hope
One of the beautiful things about Christmas is that it points us toward hope.
A new year is coming, but there’s no rush to reinvent yourself overnight. The habits that will carry you forward are the same ones you’ve been practicing all along: showing up, doing your best that day, and staying consistent over time.
We are excited to continue walking alongside you in the coming year by coaching you, encouraging you, and reminding you that progress is built one rep, one class, and one choice at a time.
Our Christmas Blessing for You
Our prayer for you this Christmas is simple:
That you experience peace.
That you feel supported.
That you remember your worth is not measured by productivity or performance.
That you find rest physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Thank you for trusting us with your fitness. Thank you for being part of this community. Thank you for choosing to dwell here with us.
An Invitation
This week, we invite you to do three simple things:
- Move your body with intention. Come to class if you can, go for a walk, stretch, or rest. Do whatever honors your body best this week.
- Encourage someone else. A text, a smile, or a quick word after class can go a long way.
- Set one gentle intention for the year ahead. Not a massive goal. Just choose one habit, mindset, or commitment you want to carry forward.
If you’re in town, we would love to see you in the gym this week. If you’re traveling or spending time with family, know that CrossFit Dwell will be here when you return.
From all of us at CrossFit Dwell, Merry Christmas. May you dwell in peace, strength, and rest this season.
