Three Ways to Train This Winter at CrossFit Dwell: FLEX’EM Fitness, FitFam, and CrossFit Dwell Kids

January often comes with a lot of pressure in the fitness world. New year. New goals. Big promises. At CrossFit Dwell, we do things a little differently. We believe fitness should support your life, not overwhelm it. It should meet you where you are and help you build habits you can actually sustain.

That’s why we’re excited to offer three specialty courses starting in January. Each one serves a different purpose and a different season of life, but they all share the same foundation: good coaching, proper movement, consistency, and fun.

Whether you’re looking to focus on your own strength, move with your kids, or help them build healthy habits early, there’s something here for you.

Let’s take a closer look at each course and the benefits they offer.

FLEX’EM Fitness: Focused Strength with Purpose

Begins January 17
Saturday at 8:15 AM | 5-week session
Coached by Keo

FLEX’EM Fitness is designed for adults who want a more focused and intentional approach to training. This 45-minute, coach-led class is all about strength, muscle tone, and moving well.

Many people come to us feeling overwhelmed by fitness. They’ve tried random workouts, rushed classes, or programs that left them sore, confused, or frustrated. FLEX’EM is different. It slows things down just enough to allow you to really learn, really lift, and really progress.

What FLEX’EM Focuses On

  • Strength training with intention
  • Proper mechanics and movement quality
  • Muscle-building work that supports everyday life
  • Smart conditioning without burnout

This class is ideal if you want to feel strong and capable and not just tired at the end of a workout. You’ll spend time learning how to move well, lift safely, and challenge yourself in ways that make sense for your body.

Benefits of FLEX’EM Fitness

  • Increased strength and muscle tone
  • Better movement patterns and confidence
  • Reduced risk of injury
  • Improved energy and resilience
  • A calmer, more focused training environment

FLEX’EM is especially helpful for adults who value coaching, want more attention to detail, and are looking for long-term progress instead of quick fixes. It’s strength training that supports your future.

FitFam: Training Together, Building Habits as a Family

Begins January 12
Mondays and Wednesdays at 1:15 PM | 5-Week Session (10 Classes)
Parents and their children (ages 0-5)
Coached by Christy

FitFam is one of our favorite offerings because it brings families together in a meaningful way. This class allows parents and young children to work out side by side, learning movements, teamwork, and healthy habits together.

For many families, fitness feels separate. Parents work out alone. Kids sit on the sidelines. FitFam changes that. It shows kids that movement is normal, fun, and something the whole family values.

What FitFam Looks Like

  • Parent-and-child workouts done together
  • Simple, functional movements
  • Team-based activities and games
  • Encouragement, laughter, and connection

This class is not about performance or perfection. It’s about participation. Everyone moves at their own level, and the focus is on effort, learning, and having fun.

Benefits of FitFam

  • Builds healthy habits as a family
  • Strengthens parent-child relationships
  • Teaches kids that fitness is part of everyday life
  • Encourages confidence and teamwork
  • Creates positive memories around movement

FitFam helps kids see their parents prioritizing health, and kids pay attention to that. It also gives parents a chance to slow down, be present, and enjoy moving with their children.

Christy brings energy, patience, and great coaching to every class, making this a welcoming space for both parents and kids.

CrossFit Dwell Kids: Building Strong Foundations Through Fun

Begins January 14
Wednesdays at 3:45 PM | 5-week session
Ages 6–11
Coached by Christy

CrossFit Dwell Kids is designed specifically for elementary-aged kids. At this age, the goal is not intensity or heavy weights. The goal is learning how to move well and enjoying movement.

These 45-minute classes focus on teaching kids proper movement patterns through games, drills, and playful challenges. Everything is scaled to their age and ability.

What Kids Will Learn

  • Squatting, jumping, pushing, pulling, and running safely
  • Balance, coordination, and body awareness
  • How to listen to coaching and follow instructions
  • How to work with others and encourage teammates

Movement skills learned at this age can last a lifetime. When kids learn how to move well early, they are more confident in sports, play, and everyday activities.

Benefits of CrossFit Dwell Kids

  • Improved coordination and strength
  • Better confidence and self-esteem
  • A positive relationship with exercise
  • Less fear of trying new movements
  • Lots of fun and active play

These classes are structured, but never boring. Games are a big part of each session, keeping kids engaged while they learn important skills. Christy creates a safe, encouraging environment where kids feel supported and successful.

Why Specialty Courses Matter

Specialty courses allow us to slow things down and focus on specific goals. They provide structure, consistency, and coaching that goes beyond a drop-in class.

At CrossFit Dwell, we care deeply about:

  • Teaching good movement
  • Helping people stay active long-term
  • Supporting families, not just individuals
  • Creating a gym where people feel known and cared for

These courses reflect those values. They are not about chasing extremes or forcing change overnight. They are about building strong foundations—for adults, kids, and families.

Which Course Is Right for You?

  • Choose FLEX’EM Fitness if you want focused strength training and intentional progress.
