Tiffany’s Story: Finding Strength, Confidence & Community at CrossFit Dwell

A New Approach to Fitness

Tiffany had tried it all—Buns of Steel videos, aerobics, barre, and endless cardio—but nothing had given her the strength she needed. As a long-distance runner, she was constantly battling injuries. Her physical therapist told her she needed to strength train to protect her body. She attempted to do it alone at a 24-hour gym but found herself unmotivated and unsure of her technique. “I was bored, frustrated with figuring out what to do, unmotivated to push myself, and unsure of my technique. I knew I needed direction and structure to gain the strength I was looking for.”

Her husband, Trey, had joined a CrossFit gym in April, and in May, Tiffany made the switch, too—and everything changed.

Strength, Confidence & Community

Since joining, Tiffany has accomplished things she never imagined: Olympic weightlifting, tire flipping, rope climbing, and even getting her first pull-up. But she’s most proud of stepping onto the competition platform for Olympic weightlifting. “It takes a lot of courage to stand by yourself on a platform, wearing a singlet, in front of three judges and a crowd of people, and try to perform an extremely technical lift successfully.” And success she was!! She nailed all her lifts.

Beyond the physical strength she’s gained, CrossFit has built her confidence in ways she never expected. She no longer doubts whether she belongs in the gym. The supportive community at CrossFit Dwell has played a huge role in that transformation.

Overcoming Challenges

Coaching & Giving Back

She especially loves working with beginners. She knows what it feels like to be intimidated by the idea of lifting weights or trying something new. She wants people to know that no matter where they’re starting, they have a place in the gym. Seeing someone get their first lift, first box jump, or even just finish a tough workout gives her a sense of fulfillment like nothing else.

Furthermore, balancing fitness with everyday life is something she takes seriously. She also believes in having fun. She doesn’t think fitness should feel like a chore. She knows that if you find something you love—whether it’s lifting, running, or a mix of both—it becomes something you look forward to, not something you have to force yourself to do.

Advice for Anyone Starting Out

Tiffany knows firsthand how intimidating it can feel to start something new. Her advice? “Your journey is your journey, and no two journeys look the same. Stop comparing your journey to those around you. Be proud of yourself every day for walking in the gym door!” It’s easy to look at others and feel behind, but progress is about showing up consistently and giving your best effort.

She also emphasizes the importance of patience. Strength and confidence don’t happen overnight. But if you keep showing up, one day you’ll look back and realize just how far you’ve come.
