Operation Summer Strong: Building a Stronger Future for Teens

Operation Summer Strong is designed specifically for 12–14 year olds, a unique and crucial stage of life when kids are transitioning into adolescence. It’s a time of rapid growth, both physically and emotionally, and it’s the perfect window to introduce fitness not just as a way to get stronger, but as a habit that can shape how they move, feel, and think for years to come.

We believe fitness should be fun, and it should help kids build the foundation they need for a lifetime of health and confidence. That’s what Operation Summer Strong is all about.


Why Should Teens Start Working Out?

We all know physical activity is important—but when it comes to young teens, the reasons go beyond just building muscle or improving sports performance. Here are just a few of the key benefits of fitness for preteens and early teens:

Adolescents today face more pressure than ever—academically, socially, and emotionally. Regular physical activity has been shown to help reduce anxiety and depression, boost mood, and increase self-esteem.

What Makes Operation Summer Strong Different?

At CrossFit Dwell, our mission is to help people move well and live better. That includes our youth.

Operation Summer Strong isn’t just about “getting teens in shape.” It’s about teaching them the why behind fitness. It’s about helping them feel confident in their bodies and capable in the world. It’s about laying a foundation that will support them well into adulthood.

Here’s what we’re offering:

🗓 Kick-Off Class:

Saturday, June 7 at 11:00 AM
This is an opportunity to meet Coach Keo, see the space, try some movements, and ask questions. Whether your teen is signed up or just curious, this class is a great place to start!

🏋️‍♀️ Two Summer Sessions:

  • Session 1: June 9–20
  • Session 2: July 7–18

Classes meet Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM.
Each session includes 6 classes, for a total of 12 classes this summer.

Class size is limited to just 8 kids to ensure every teen gets quality coaching and attention.


Why Now?

This age range of 12 to 14-years old is when many kids start to drift away from physical activity. If they’re not involved in competitive sports or school athletics, they may feel like there’s no “place” for them to be active.

We want to change that.

Operation Summer Strong is that place.

It’s not about being the fastest or strongest. It’s about showing up, trying your best, and discovering what your body can do when you treat it well.

And the best part? It’s fun.

Kids will leave class feeling accomplished, sweaty, and proud of themselves. And they’ll be better equipped physically, mentally, and emotionally for the school year ahead.
