Is CrossFit Effective? That is the question that was important to me when I started to explore it as an option for my own fitness in 2017. I didn’t want to spend the time or the money on a methodology that would not make me stronger and more fit overall. After all, I had done fitness in my own home for well over a decade. Through the years, I had taught and participated in several group fitness class types that I had really enjoyed.
In 2008, when my husband first started talking about CrossFit, it was after he had experienced a 100 percent blockage of the widowmaker and had received two stents in that artery in order to survive. He was already an avid runner and he lifted consistently at the gym located in the building where he worked. Yet, he felt like he needed a method that would allow him to trust his body again. So, he started reading The CrossFit journal and learning all about this relatively new methodology. He LOVED CrossFit, and wanted me to love it, too.
It took me almost 10 years to jump into my very first CrossFit class. I was a nervous to try something new. Also, I thought I was pretty fit before I began. I quickly learned that I was lacking in several key areas of fitness. Just a few months in, and I was hooked on this method. It was challenging, yes, AND it showed me that I could push through really tough workouts with the right scaling. In the 7 years since I began CrossFit, I have noticed improvements in all 10 of the general physical skills CrossFit recognizes as important: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.
My questions to you:
Are you looking for a proven methodology to gain physical preparedness in those 10 general physical skills I listed above?
Are you tired of doing random workouts that don’t seem to move the needle in your fitness?
Are you ready to see a huge improvement in your physical, mental, and emotional well-being in the coming year?
We know CrossFit works. That is why my daughter, Lauren, and I became owners of CrossFit Dwell. And we love helping busy people achieve fitness using this time-tested method. We are ready to help you move the needle in your fitness this year – are you? Let’s do it together.
