Introducing The O.A.S.I.S. Club For Adults 60+ at CrossFit Dwell

We hear it all the time:

“I’m too old for CrossFit.”
“I’m too out of shape to start.”
“I wish I had started years ago.”

The truth is, fitness does not have an age limit.

In fact, one of the fastest-growing groups joining gyms today is adults over 60. More and more people are realizing they do not just want to live longer. They want to stay strong, active, independent, and capable while they do it.

That is exactly why we created The O.A.S.I.S. Club at CrossFit Dwell.

O.A.S.I.S. stands for Older Adults Staying in Shape, and this new program is designed specifically for adults 60+ who want to improve their health, strength, mobility, balance, and quality of life in a safe, encouraging environment.

This is not about trying to “keep up” with younger athletes.
This is about helping you move well, feel better, stay independent, and continue doing the things you love for years to come.

Why We Created The O.A.S.I.S. Club

We believe fitness should support you for your entire life.

One of the things we love most about CrossFit is that every workout can be adjusted to fit the individual. Whether someone is 25 or 75, brand new to exercise or experienced, workouts can be modified to meet them exactly where they are.

But we also understand that walking into a gym can feel intimidating, especially if it has been years since you exercised consistently or if you have never followed a structured fitness program before.

The O.A.S.I.S. Club was created to remove that fear and replace it with support, encouragement, and confidence.

These classes are specifically designed for older adults and focus on:

  • Improving strength
  • Building balance and coordination
  • Increasing mobility and flexibility
  • Supporting heart health
  • Maintaining independence
  • Helping everyday life feel easier

Most importantly, we want our members to feel comfortable, welcomed, and supported every step of the way.

What Makes This Program Different

The O.A.S.I.S. Club uses the same foundational principles we believe in at CrossFit Dwell:

  • Functional movement
  • Proper mechanics
  • Consistency
  • Scalability
  • Community

That means workouts are adjusted for each person’s abilities and limitations. Safety and good movement will always come before speed or heavy weights.

Our coaches will help every athlete modify movements as needed and provide personal attention throughout class. Whether that means using lighter weights, adjusting range of motion, sitting for certain exercises, or slowing things down, we meet you where you are.

Because fitness is not one-size-fits-all.

The Benefits of Staying Active as We Age

Exercise becomes even more important as we get older.

Consistent strength training and cardiovascular exercise can help improve:

  • Bone density
  • Muscle mass
  • Balance and coordination
  • Mobility
  • Energy levels
  • Brain health
  • Heart health
  • Sleep quality
  • Mental health

Regular exercise has also been linked to reducing the risk of falls, dementia, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and many other chronic health conditions.

But honestly, some of the biggest benefits we see at CrossFit Dwell go far beyond the physical.

We see people:

  • Gain confidence
  • Make new friendships
  • Feel less isolated
  • Laugh more
  • Discover they are capable of more than they thought

Community matters at every age.

For many older adults, retirement or life changes can lead to fewer social connections and less daily activity. Group fitness creates an opportunity to build relationships while improving health at the same time.

We truly believe people do better when they do fitness together.

What O.A.S.I.S. Club Classes Will Look Like

The O.A.S.I.S. Club classes will meet beginning Tuesday, June 23:
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 AM – Noon

Participants can choose:

  • Once per week attendance
  • Twice per week attendance

Classes will include scaled versions of:

  • Strength work
  • Cardio conditioning
  • Functional movement
  • Balance and mobility exercises

Everything is tailored specifically for the needs of the 60+ community.

You do not need experience.
You do not need to “get in shape first.”
You simply need to start.

Our Vision for Healthy Aging

There is a common belief that getting older automatically means becoming weaker, slower, and less capable.

We disagree.

Aging may be inevitable, but how we age matters.

Our goal with The O.A.S.I.S. Club is to help people maintain their independence, confidence, and ability to fully enjoy life for as long as possible.

We want our members to keep traveling, playing with grandchildren, carrying groceries, getting up off the floor, hiking, gardening, and living actively.

We want people to feel strong in their everyday lives.

Because fitness is not just about adding years to your life.
It is about adding life to your years.
