Thanksgiving is this week and it is the perfect time to reflect on all the things we’re grateful for—and at CrossFit Dwell, that starts with YOU.
This gym is so much more than a place to work out. It’s a community of strong, supportive, and committed individuals who support each other every single day. Whether you’re here for the strength gains, the friendships, the personal growth, or all of the above, you are part of what makes this place special.
Celebrating Our Wins
This year has been full of achievements by each and every one of you. From first-time rope climbs and pull-ups to completing challenging workouts, so many of you have hit your goals and surprised yourselves with what you’re capable of. It’s been inspiring and fun to watch!
We’ve also seen members step outside their comfort zones—joining competitions, like Matt competing in the Master’s Division of Festivus Games, Jennifer running 2 miles for the first time ever, Katie’s mobility increasing greatly, and Michael doing the Spartan 50K race. We celebrated doing the CrossFit Open together. We have seen new PRs set every single week! Heavier deadlifts, squats, snatches, cleans; improved running times; better mechanics; and so much more have been consistently achieved. Your determination to try new things reminds us all that growth comes from taking that first step, even when it feels a little scary.
Our Committed Club and our 100 Workout Challenge have also been highlights of the year. We have had seven athletes make the Committed Club every single month in 2024: Michael, Billy, Michelle, Irene, Matt, Greg, and Shari! However, seeing so many of you commit to showing up consistently, no matter how busy life gets, is a testament to your dedication to living healthier lives. We know it’s not easy, but your effort proves that it’s always worth it. Even if you were not able to make the Committed Club or finish the 100 Workout Challenge, we are proud of you for showing up when your schedule and life allows. Every workout is progress!
This year, our community also took on three challenges—Pull-Ups, Push-Ups, and ROWvember—and you all crushed it! So many of you participated! From building upper body strength in our Pull-Up challenge to building endurance in Push-Ups, both challenges showcased grit and progress from everyone who participated. ROWvember has seen members logging impressive distances on the rower. Whether you have set a personal best, improved your form, or simply showed up to participate, these challenges highlighted your dedication to growth. We’re so proud of all you’ve accomplished!
Speaking of growth, Coach Keo and Coach Tiffany both pursued improving their skills as coaches. Keo completed the CrossFit Level 2 course, and Tiffany earned her USA Weightlifting level 1 and level 2.
And let’s not forget the smaller wins that are just as meaningful—like showing up on a day when you didn’t feel like it, finishing a tough workout even if you had to modify, or encouraging someone else through their last rep. I loved seeing people like Cheryl joining in on burpees so another teammate wouldn’t be finishing alone. Those moments matter just as much, and we see you.
A Community Like No Other
What truly makes CrossFit Dwell unique is our community. This year, we welcomed new members like Chris and Theresa, a father-daughter duo who inspire each other to show up and give it their all. We celebrated milestones with long-time members, like Rick and Molly, who returned to prioritize their health and get back into a routine. We saw Ian join his dad, Nick, and Sean join his wife, Angelique. We know great things happen when families workout together!
We’ve also seen friendships deepen, accountability partners form, and an endless supply of high-fives and words of encouragement shared in every class. The energy and positivity you bring into the gym are what make this a place where people want to come back day after day.
Every member of this community adds something special, and we’re so thankful to be a part of your journey.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on the past year, we also look forward to what’s next. The holidays can be a busy time, but it’s also an opportunity to set the tone for the year ahead. What goals do you want to accomplish in 2025? Whether it’s getting stronger, moving pain-free, running a race, or simply feeling more energized, we’re here to help you get there.
Remember, it’s not about perfection—it’s about progress. Each time you show up, give your best effort, and stay consistent, you’re moving closer to your goals. If you’re unsure where to start, let’s talk! Your coaches are always here to help you set realistic goals and create a plan to achieve them.
As you gather around the Thanksgiving table with your loved ones, take a moment to think about what you’re most grateful for. We’d love to hear about it! The next time you’re in class, share something that has been a highlight for you this year, whether it is fitness-related or something else entirely. Keep sharing those Bright Spots in our Facebook group every Friday!
We also challenge you to set a small, meaningful goal to work toward during the holiday season. Maybe it’s attending three classes a week, focusing on nutrition with our partners at Smart & Simple Nutrition, or finally mastering that one movement you’ve been chasing. Whatever it is, write it down, share it with us, and let’s tackle it together.
Lastly, if you know someone who’s been curious about CrossFit or looking to prioritize their health, invite them to schedule a free intro with us. There’s no better gift than helping someone take the first step toward a healthier, happier life.
Thank You
To each and every one of you—thank you for being part of the CrossFit Dwell family. Thank you for your hard work, your kindness, and your willingness to show up for yourself and each other. We’re so proud of all you’ve accomplished and excited to see what is next.
This Thanksgiving, we’re counting you as one of our biggest blessings. Let’s finish the year strong, together!
See you at the gym,
Lauren and Natalie
